on september 11. many believe the obama administration initially covered up what was a terrorist attack by saying the violence might have been generated by an anti-muslim tape. we now know ambassador stevens, foreign service officer sean smith, former navy seal and two others were killed in a planned terrorist attack. the situation has the potential, potential to damage president obama's reelection chances. let's take it step by step in a methodical way. on september 12, president obama reacted to the murder of ambassador stevens by first discussing the anti-muslim tape. >> we reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, but there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. none. >> bill: the next day, secretary of state hillary clinton made a public statement again emphasizing the tape. >> the united states government had absolutely nothing to do with this video. we absolutely reject its content and message. america's commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. >> bill: notice no mention of the possibility

manipulation by the obamas administration. i do not know if you suggest it, but you said straight out that the obama administration had manipulated it. then you change your tune a little bit. what usually happens over time is that some of these things even out. we are unlikely to see another sharp drop-off in the unemployment rate. another issue that appears to be true is that we are near a low level of people in terms of those participating in the work force. and it went up last month, but it is near a 30-year low. there are still aspects of the job market that are still weak. the unemployment rate is still obviously very high. he had a lot of interesting things to say, but the "wall street journal", it was a bit different from the tweet he put out. host: mr. nardone, what is the bls response to what jack welch wrote? guest: the response to the idea that somebody in the white house called us up and told us that the unemployment rate needed to be 7.8%, that is simply not true. it did not happened. if it did happen, the folks that work on these numbers, they would be the ones the sendi
